Damage on Backside of Wall

Stucco Damage on Retaining Walls

This was a retaining wall that had been built many, many years ago and it was showing its age, along with some other delamination issues, as well.

The extent of the damage was not showing through until I pressure washed the wall, which blew off much larger areas of the stucco finish and base coat, which can be seen in some of the photos below.

After the pressure washing was finished, the larger areas had to be patched because they were quite deep and then a recoat over the entire wall was the last remaining step.

  • Type of Repair: Remove loose stucco on retaining wall, repair and recoat.
  • Process of Repair: Walls needed to be pressure washed to remove loose stucco, and deeper areas needed patching. A finish coat was then applied over the entire wall.
  • Stucco System: Two coat stucco system (base coat and finish coat)
  • Location of Project: North San Juan, California
