Loose Stucco Finish Removed From Wall

Removing Stucco Finish and Recoating Wall

Before any work was performed on this wall, there were large spots of the finish that was bubbling and protruding from the wall.

These needed to be scraped off. After that, a good pressure washing exposed a lot more loose material and the first image below illustrates that.

Some spots on the wall needed to be patched prior to recoating the wall because they were too deep and would likely show through on the finish.

The final step was to apply an acrylic finish over the entire wall to make it a seamless repair. The wall was going to be painted afterward, as the existing walls had already been painted.

  • Type of Repair: Removal of any loose finish, patch areas and apply a recoat on entire wall.
  • Process of Repair: Pressure wash the entire wall, patch any areas that needed to be patched and then recoat the entire wall with an acrylic finish that matched existing texture. The wall was going to be painted.
  • Stucco System: Three coat stucco system
  • Location of Project: Grass Valley, California
