Can you match the color of my stucco?
That's a question I get all the time and in most cases we can match your existing color, but there is more to it than just a simple yes or no answer. What it all boils down to is how well I think I'll be able to match the color you have on your existing stucco walls.

The Variables That Come Up...
There are a few of factors to take into account if we are going to talk about color matching and these are:
- if there is any reference to the existing color at all
- what type of finish you have on your walls and
- is the surface painted
1. I have a sample of my stucco color: If you know the color that was used, then things tend to get a little easier because we know what color was used at the time of the project and eliminates nearly all of the guesswork.
The only variable left at that point would be to look at the color that is on your walls and determine if it has faded any and if so, how much. An older home can sometimes have a much lighter shade of the original color that was used, so we would have to make that lighter color, in order to match it properly.
I don't know what color I have: When the color is unknown, there are a couple of routes we can take from her. The first option would be to pick a color from a color chart and get the color close, which some people are okay with. This would work better if the surface was not painted and would likely make the color easier to identify.
The other option would be to have a custom color made or matched. Some stucco manufacturers provide color matching and can get a decent match. There are times when a color is not matched closely enough and we have to see if we can get it closer to the original.
2. The finish you have on your walls will also provide a clue on what color was used, as long as it was not painted. All manufacturers offer their own stucco color charts and will have specific colors to choose from and you might get lucky if you hold a sample up to the wall and compare the two together.
3. It makes it easier to match an existing stucco color if it is not painted because the options are more limited. Of course, if you are planning on painting the areas with the same color of paint as the hose afterwards, then you could just grab a sample and match it yourself.
A custom-made color is the only exception to this rule, as it would have been made specifically for that project and was not offered as a standard color choice.
If your stucco was painted, then the number of color possibilities goes up dramatically, making it very difficult to match without having to custom match the existing color.
Do We Color Match?
I have matched many different stucco colors over the years and have been able to get a very close match on most projects.
We do color match, if it is required and can go any of the above-mentioned routes, but I do want to point out that this is usually an extra charge for the added time and materials that will be need to match an existing color and will vary from job to job. If you are interested in a color match, then get in touch with us and we can discuss the details.
